Police investigating assault

ARARAT - Ararat Police are investigating an assault which took place at a private residence in Ararat.

Police reported that an unknown person knocked on the door of a Palmer Street address and on answering the door the victim was struck to the right side of the face.

The assault took place early in the morning on June 30. Investigations are continuing.

-A bicycle valued at $1600 was stolen from a Lowe Street address.

The bike was left beside a garage at the property and was stolen on June 28.

-Unknown offenders entered a rural property in Picnic Road, Langi Ghiran, damaging fences and helping themselves to firewood.

The offenders entered the property sometime on June 21 by using a vehicle to push over a fence, causing $100 damage.

They then drove 400 metres into the property to access two dead trees.

The trees were cut down and the wood loaded onto two vehicles. The value of the wood is estimated at $160.

Investigations are continuing.
