Groups receive RSL grants

14/10/2008 9:15:00 AM
ARARAT - President of the Ararat RSL Sub Branch Frank Neulist presented the annual Community Grants to 14 organisations recently.

Ararat Table Tennis Club, East Grampians Health Service, Ararat North Primary School, Elmhurst Playgroup, Ararat Community College, Moyston/Willaura Football and Netball Club, Warriors Junior Football Club, Ararat City Band, ART 3 Neighbourhood Watch, Ararat Swimming Club, Ararat Fire Brigade, Ararat and District Aeromodellers Club, Ararat Orchid Society and Ararat Community Men's Shed Enterprise were all recipients of grants.

The grants received were for a wide variety of various community activities, infrastructure projects and equipment needs.

The Ararat RSL received 42 applications from local community groups for Community Grants this year, up on the 38 received in 2007.

While all of the organisations are worthy applicants the Ararat Sub Branch was not in a position to assist all of those groups in this round of funding.

The Ararat Sub Branch is looking forward to providing Community Grants to local community groups again in 2009 and hopes that these contributions, whether large or small, make a difference to the provision of services and support to the people of Ararat and district.
