ARARAT - Through the generosity of Foster's `In the Community' grant fund the Ararat YMCA Opportunity Shop was presented with a cheque for $500.
The initiative encourages Foster's employees to nominate a charity of their choice and the nominee is then submitted for possible acceptance.
Seppelt's employee Felecia Marshall nominated the YMCA Op Shop.
The money has already been allocated towards the updating and replacement of basketball singlets for the YCMA junior basketball program.
Money raised by the Op Shop during August, combined with this donation from Foster's, will allow an entire updating of all team singlets.
The YMCA Op Shop is located at 394 Barkly Street (east end) and relies heavily on donations from the public to continue its fundraising efforts which so far have seen $11,000 given to the YMCA since the shop opened in May.
Donations can be left in the foyer of the YMCA, dropped into the shop or to arrange pick up, phone 5352 7337.
