ARARAT - Karen Harricks is one lady who loves to entertain, and she will be hoping to put on a great show for the crowd when she takes to the floor for the Ararat Football Netball Club's Dancing With Our Stars extravaganza.

The night is being held at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre on October 18, a cause for double celebration, as this also mark's the birthday of Karen's middle child Kate.

Karen works at Grampian Ford and at Chalambar Golf Club in gaming and behind the bar, and has enlisted the services of known rocker Bill Metcalfe to partner her on the night.

In her spare time Karen loves entertaining, cooking, and also being a part of both the Ararat College School Council and the Ararat Football Netball Club.

Karen has had some dancing experience, doing ballet as a teenager, and more recently dappling in the art of belly dancing.

However, rumour has it that a few glasses of choice champagne on a Saturday night, combined with some tasteful music, can have Karen singing and dancing the night away to the delight of the masses.

A true entertainer, Karen can bring light to any occasion, and frequently does.

With 350 people set to pack the Ararat Performing Arts Centre, Karen will need to call on these experiences and do what she does best, entertain!

A fashion parade in aid of Karen's charity will be held on Monday night at Chalambar Golf Club.

Dancing With Our Stars sees nine couples from the community come together for a great night of entertainment, all in the name of charity.

All proceeds from the night will go to the couple's various selected charity organisations, with Karen and Bill choosing to support the Ararat College Chaplaincy Fund.

With two highly successful years under the belt, organiser Murray Jensen is expecting another great spectacle this year.

And with music tastes ranging from Rod Stewart to Meatloaf to Queen, one thing is for sure, Karen and Bill will be rocking to the masses come October 18.
