Building projects

ARARAT - Ararat Rural City Council infrastructure department staff completed a number of building projects during the last quarter.

Projects were completed around the municipality and in the city itself and included:

-Lake Bolac Stand Pipe - placed marker buoys on far side of deep water hole, to mark deep water area at end of stand pipe suction line.

-Gum San - placed plaque on base of Confucius statue for unveiling ceremony.

-Various fencing upgrades - replaced old concrete post and pipe fence in Tobin St over South storm channel, with Banksia fence.

-Visitor Information Centre - placed new display shelving.

-Fencing upgrades Laby Street - placed Banksia fence over drain.

-Elmhurst - placed new rubbish bin surround and bin alongside Hotel, with butt bin attached.

-Alexandra Oval - repaired old football club interchange boxes which had rusted off at the bottom (these were originally built by the club) also placed covers over stormwater drain in front of boxes.

-Rural bus shelter - placed concrete slab at Nerrin Nerrin for bus shelter.

-Transfer Stations Pomonal and Moyston - have placed water tanks and small sheds with water pumps, taps and hoses for washing down bins and cleaning up (water still to be added).

-Parking meters - changed over faulty meter with spare in depot.

-Depot office renovations - alterations and extensions to the new meeting room at the depot.

-Streetscape flagpoles - placed new flags on poles on naturestrip below Safeway.

-Alexandra Oval fence - placed new gate in oval fence to vary access onto oval to help protect grass, also placed plate over drain in gateway.

-Alexandra Oval - replaced bolts in top rail of fence that were protruding in towards the oval creating a risk of injury for players.

-Cenotaph - placed power outlets on floodlights for RSL people to access when required also replaced old floodlight guards with new.
